The City Government of Davao has allocated P5 million cash for the victims of Typhoon Lawin in Northern Luzon.
On Tuesday morning, the Davao City Council approved a resolution appropriating P5 million for the people affected by the typhoon that hit many areas of Northern Luzon last week.
The local government allocated P1.8 million for Cagayan Valley, P1.6 million for Kalinga, P900,000 for Ilocos Norte, P200,000 for La Union, P150,000 for Apayao, and P350,000 for Mt. Province.
The resolution was passed through the request of Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.
“Davao City and the Dabawenyos are always ready to help areas that are devastated by calamities,” said Mayor Inday Sara.
Data showed around 495,937 persons were affected by the typhoon. The cash assistance of Davao will provide at least P10,000 per person affected.
