#LawinPH Aftermath: Photos from ground zero

Hours after super typhoon Lawin (Hamian) battered the northern parts of the Philippines, Filipinos woke up to a devastating news about the damages incurred by the typhoon in the areas it passed through.

Dead animals, trampled houses and trees, devastating images from people at the heart of the disaster have emerged.

Report from state weather forecaster PAGASA says Lawin has further weakened as it passes beyond land mass. The typhoon, now has maximum winds of up to 150 kilometers per hour (km/h) and gustiness of up to 185 km/h, is already off the coast of Ilocos Norte as of late Thursday morning, October 20.

Lawin is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Thursday night.
